Angkor Photography Festival 2008

À l’ombre des temples d’Angkor, il rassemble depuis quatre ans les photographes passionnés par cette région du monde, dans un esprit de créativité et d’échange.
Le Festival Photo d’Angkor s’organise autour de stages de formation offerts à de jeunes photographes asiatiques émergents. Cet événement se propose également d’utiliser la photographie pour apporter aide et soutien à des Cambodgiens en difficulté.

Fondé en 2005, le Festival Photo d’Angkor est le premier festival de photographie d’Asie du Sud-Est. Il présente chaque année les travaux de photographes internationaux, ainsi que de photographes régionaux émergents.

Pour la quatrième année consécutive, le Festival photo d’Angkor accueillera une série d’ateliers photo encadrés par des photographes de renom. Les 30 jeunes photographes asiatiques attendus pour 2008 sont originaires de Chine, Inde, Bengladesh, Birmanie, Thaïlande, Laos, Cambodge, Sri Lanka ou encore les Philippines.

À travers ces ateliers, le Festival Photo d’Angkor souhaite encourager la carrière de ces jeunes photographes émergents et la diffusion de leurs travaux dans différents événements photographiques internationaux.

Le Festival Photo d’Angkor présente cette année dans différents lieux de Siem Reap des projections extérieures mettant en avant les travaux de photographes régionaux et internationaux.

Le programme 2008 comportera 6 soirées de projection de photographies de sujets internationaux sélectionnés par les tuteurs des ateliers photo, le festival, Sujong Song et Christian Caujolle, deux commissaires de renommée internationale.

Après un arrêt sur l’Asie en 2007, la programmation 2008 du festival présentera des projections de sujets internationaux tout en affirmant sa principale mission : la découverte de photographes émergents en Asie du sud-est.
